Welcome to the latest edition of Massage Moves and congratulations to the most recent winner of the one hour home massage, Donna from Ashfield.

We are strong believers in the benefits of pregnancy massage as many of our previous "Massage Moves" articles have indicated. However we do not advocate the use of pregnancy massage tables (where a hole is cut-out for the abdomen) as it can put strain on the joints and ligaments of the lower. Our preference is to use the side-lying position for massage.

A number of our therapists use a pregnancy cushion which most clients find extremely comfortable. However we would like to be able to show with pictures on our website how we carry out our pregnancy massages. If you are interested in having a half price pregnancy massage in return for a few piccies (with your right of veto!) on our website then please call 0421 410057 to make a booking.

    Best Regards.
Richard and the Inner West Massage Team.

Sydney Hens Massage and Pamper Party

Massage and pamper parties are becoming more and more popular, particularly for Hens Parties. Massage and beauty therapists turn up at the appointed time and provide. A few of us have been working on a new venture to provide this service (in particular for Hens Night in and around central Sydney/Inner West and Eastern Suburbs). So if you are interested in getting a group of massage/beauty therapists to visit your party (be it for hens, bridal party, girls night, birthday, event) then check out

    The Summer Series - Orienteering

If you are looking to get fit over summer and are thinking about doing something slightly different then NSW Orienteers put a programme of after work races throughout Sydney. These runs are attracting ever increasing numbers of participants. No orienteering experience is necessary and
"The Summer Series" events are for everyone, attracting walkers and joggers through to champion runners. If you enjoy exploring different parts of Sydney, ranging from some of the finest Harbourside parks through to suburban bushland then you will love the Summer Series.

The Series kicks off on 11th October at Lavender Bay and continues throughout the summer on each Wednesday night. The programme of events is listed here. Some Inner West Mobile Massage therapists will be provide after run massages for the event on 15th November in Haberfield so hopefully we'll see you there!

    Feldenkrais Method

Last month we featured a brief article on the Alexander Technique and it's application in improving posture. Another technique which has some influences of the Alexander Technique is the Feldenkrais Method.

The Feldenkrais Method is an educational system intended to give a greater functional awareness of the self. The Feldenkrais Method attracts those who want to improve their movement repertoire (as dancers, musicians, artists), who want to eliminate pain, increase range of movement, or who want to use the method as a way to improve their well-being and personal development.
