Inner West Massage goes Carbon Neutral

There are many factors influencing where and when people choose to have a massage. Availability and convenience are obviously factors that we promote (although therapist quality has to be very high on the list). I'd be very surprised if the environmental impact was ever a factor in the decision making process.

However, I heard an interview the other day with a mobile car wash business that had decided to go carbon neutral with it's business and decided to look into the subject further. With all the talk in the media about climate change in the media, then environmental sustainability of any business is of great importance.

On doing a little research, we have now signed up our car petrol usage to become carbon neutral through a website called Greenfleet. They include a "Tree Totaller" to estimate the number of trees required to offset car carbon emissions. By doing a back of an envelope calculation based on massages given in the past year, average distance travelled, estimated petrol consumption and then factoring in an extra 50% just to make sure then we our now carbon neutral for massages carried out in the past year and this will be an ongoing commitment.

Before I looked into this, I have to admit I was concerned that the cost to our business might be significant. However, assuming the models used by Greenfleet are of reasonable accuracy then the cost to us per massage is less than the cost of an sms required to organise the massage.

Mobile Massage for Parramatta and the Hills

For those subscribers who live outside of the suburbs that we cover (listed here) then we would just like to bring your attention to a new spin-off that provides quality mobile massage to the Parramatta and Hills District of Sydney.

    Arnica and Muscle Soreness

Arnica is a very frequently used topical herbal medicine. It is believed to assist healing from bruising, sprains and external local healing (excluding open wounds). In addition, arnica can be used to treat tired, overworked muscles.

Arnica's effectiveness as a herbal medicine for bruising, sprains, and inflammation is well established and many commercial creams used for treatment of pain, bruising, and swelling contain arnica as an active ingredient.
